The College Football Playoff Foundation was formed with the introduction of the College Football Playoff system to make significant difference through the platform of college football. The Foundation seeks to elevation the teaching profession by implementing and supporting activities across area of resources, recognition, recruitment, and professional development.
For an organization with the capability of reaching large audiences with an inspiring message, it was important that the social and digital strategy was set on a solid foundation from day one to allow room for long-term success and growth.
With the help of partnerships like ESPN, universities, conferences, corporate partnerships and college football celebrities such as Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, and more, we were able to connect the brand with new audiences and new partnerships through social media. Whether it was the Championship Experience, Taste of the Championship, the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit, which has featured Condoleeza Rice, Lauren Daigle, Rachel Lindsey, and Carl Lewis, our goal was to deliver consistent messaging and a consistent look and feel throughout all creative while also leveraging video and graphic content produced and supplied by school across the country.
The challenge was not just about answering the call to support the organizations individual social channels, but also asking – how can we support their partners to deliver their message and reach new audiences?
For example, with Extra Yard for Teachers Week, a week-long period to celebrate and recognize teachers everywhere, we developed social media toolkits and instructions for every university, conference, and corporate partner with customizable graphics that could be tailored to their needs to help support the week. Whether it was the Texas Longhorns, Crimson Tide, Volunteers, or Blue Devils, we made sure their social media teams were equipped and ready on day one. In addition, we also provided digital signage for broadcast, web, and in-stadium ribbon boards to be used at athletic events throughout the week and on Saturday game-day.
Today, the CFP Foundation continue to inspire and empower, raising $80 million each year that supports over half a million teachers.
